Second Man Dies Following Downpatrick Road Collision
A second man has died following a serious two-vehicle collision on the Ballydugan Road in Downpatrick last week.
Caoimhin Teggart, aged 28 and from the Kilkeel area, died in hospital on Monday night, 22 September 2025, a week after the incident occurred.
The collision, which involved a silver VW Bora and a grey Toyota Avensis, took place at approximately 2pm on Monday, 15 September 2025. Mr Teggart was a passenger in the VW Bora. The driver of the same vehicle, Ryan Cunningham, aged 21, was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
Two women who were travelling in the Toyota Avensis also sustained injuries and required hospital treatment.
The PSNI Collision Investigation Unit confirmed that an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the crash is ongoing. Officers are renewing their appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or was travelling in the area at the time and may have captured dash-cam or mobile phone footage to contact them.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 760 15/09/25.

Woman Dies Following Collision In Newtownabbey
A woman has died in hospital following a collision on the Doagh Road in Newtownabbey on Monday, 13th January. Shortly before 6.15pm, police received a report of a collision involving a grey Seat Ateca and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 80s, was taken to hospital but has since died as a result of her injuries.

The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
