Major Cannabis Factory Uncovered In Portadown
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch have arrested and charged a man after seizing a significant amount of cannabis in the Portadown area.
The seizure, which has an estimated street value of around £120,000, occurred after officers were called to an address in the Broomhill area shortly before 1am on Saturday, 4 October. Detective Sergeant Martin described it as a "sophisticated cannabis factory".
A 30-year-old man was arrested later that morning. The man has since been charged with a number of offences, including cultivating cannabis, possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug, and dishonestly using electricity.
He is expected to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court on Monday, 6 October. All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The PSNI reiterated its commitment to tackling the illegal supply of drugs, asking anyone with information to contact police on 101. Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Cannabis Factory Discovered In Ballymena
A man has been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered in a shed in Ballymena, Co Antrim. A member of the public made the discovery in the Frosses Road area at around 11.30pm. Over 100 plants were seized, according to the police.
