PSNI Recovers Firearm And Ammunition In Newtownabbey

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following the recovery of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition in Newtownabbey.

Detective Inspector Gallagher confirmed that during a planned search on Tuesday, 7 October, a firearm was initially uncovered in the Glas na Braden Glen area, followed by the discovery of ammunition at around 12.50pm.

Police enquiries are currently ongoing. Detectives have appealed to anyone with information, including dash-cam, CCTV, or other footage, to contact police immediately on 101, quoting reference number 699 of 07/10/25.

Appeal Over Ballymena Jewellery Robbery
Police have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Ballymena, County Antrim. Man Arrested After Firearm And Ammunition Found In Co Down
A man has been arrested after police found a firearm and ammunition in Newtownards, Co Down. Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out a search in the Mark Street area on Monday, 08 January. The 27-year-old suspect has been detained in police custody. He is currently being questioned at Musgrave Police Station.

Man Arrested And Firearm Recovered In West Belfast
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and a suspected firearm recovered during a police operation in west Belfast on the evening og Sunday, 07 July. Inspector McCullough said: "Officers carried out planned searches at two properties in the Kashmir Road area of the city – where a suspected firearm and other items were seized from one of the addresses.
