Man Released As Investigation Continues Into Newtownabbey Death
A 40-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Newtownabbey has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police officers, along with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, attended an address in the Old Mill Drive area on Sunday afternoon, 12 October. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Tom Phillips, from the Major Investigation Team, said: "My thoughts are, first and foremost, with the woman's family who are left trying to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.
"Following a post-mortem examination, the woman's death is not being treated as murder at this time."
He confirmed that enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death. Cordons and a police presence remain in place in the area at this time.
The detective appealed for information, said: "I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 701 of 12/10/25."

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Man arrested after woman dies in collision
A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in County Down. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was hit by a vehicle on the Comber Road in Newtownards at about 9.45pm last night. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in south Belfast. Detective Inspector Jennifer Rea confirm that the body of a man located at a property in south Belfast on the evening of Saturday 20 July, was 34-year-old Kevin Davidson.
