Two Men Charged After Viable Pipe Bomb Found In Keady

Detectives investigating a security alert in the Keady area on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, have confirmed that two men have been charged to court.

The charges follow an incident where a viable pipe bomb device was located in the rear of a vehicle after it made off from officers in the Lurgan area. The vehicle was stopped in Keady using a stinger device following an authorised police pursuit.

The men, aged 22 and 37, have both been charged with a range of offences, including: possessing explosives in suspicious circumstances; driving while disqualified; using a motor vehicle without insurance; dangerous driving; and failing to stop for police.

The 37-year-old man faces an additional charge of driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

Both men are due to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court today, Friday, 24 October 2025. All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as part of the usual procedure.

Petrol Bomb Thrown At Police Vehicle In Co Antrim
Two masked men threw a petrol bomb at a police vehicle in Co Antrim. The attack happened in the Castlemara Drive area in Carrickfergus at around 2.20am on Sunday, 29 May. The bomb hit the vehicle, however no damage was caused. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Two Charged After Police Pursuit
Two men have been charged following a police chase of a stolen car in Dunmurry. According to the police, a Honda Civic was driving on the wrong side of the road in the Glenbawn area on Wednesday morning. The vehicle was found abandoned in the Woodside Drive area. The driver made off on foot.

Officer injured in hammer assault
A police officer has been injured after being struck with a hammer in Co Armagh at the weekend. The incident occurred after officers were called to the Thomas Street area of Portadown on Sunday after a Portuguese man reported damage to his car. When officers arrived they saw a man being assaulted in a separate incident nearby.
