Vehicles Damaged As Youths Throw Bricks And Masonry In Strabane
Police are appealing to parents and the public following a serious incident of anti-social behaviour in the Bradley Way area of Strabane on the evening of Monday, 27 October 2025.
Sergeant Crawford confirmed that shortly before 6pm, a report was received detailing that approximately 30 youths were causing a major disturbance by running into traffic and throwing bricks and heavy masonry at vehicles.
The reckless actions led to criminal damage, including:
• Damage to a private vehicle travelling in the area.
• The windscreen of a police patrol car being smashed. Police believe the incident is linked to further reports of youths gaining entry to a vacant building in the Bradley Way area, and a short time later, gaining access to the yard of a business in the nearby Park Road.
Sergeant Crawford issued a serious warning to those involved: "Someone could have been seriously injured or worse due to their behaviour."
The officer emphasised the collective responsibility to make communities safer, urging parents and guardians to speak to their young people about their whereabouts and the dangers of this type of incident.
Police confirmed that patrols will be out and about to deter further anti-social behaviour. While the police "do not want to criminalise young people," Sergeant Crawford stated that if offences are identified, they will be dealt with robustly.
Anyone with concerns about antisocial behaviour is asked to contact police on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
