Man Dies After Suspected Hit-And-Run Collision In Dungiven

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed the death of a man, aged in his 60s, who passed away after sustaining serious injuries in the Dungiven area.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 2 November 2025.

Police received a report at approximately 1.35am that an injured man had been discovered in the Foreglen Road area. Officers attended the scene immediately, alongside colleagues from partner emergency services. The man was subsequently transported to hospital for urgent treatment, but sadly died shortly afterwards.

Detectives are currently investigating the full circumstances surrounding the death. At this time, they believe the man may have been injured in a hit-and-run road traffic collision.

Detective Inspector Gillian Connolly from the Criminal Investigation Department issued an appeal for witnesses: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances, and at this time, we believe that he may have been injured in a hit and run road traffic collision. As part of our enquiries, we would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage which could assist.

"Were you in the area between 1am and 2am this morning, Sunday, November 2? Did you see anything that may help with our investigation? If so, please call us on 101, quoting reference 123 of 02/11/25, or submit information online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/."

Woman Killed Following Crash On A2
A woman has been killed in a car crash on the Bangor to Belfast Road on Friday, 10 November. The collision happened on the A2 at Ballygilbert after 3pm. A child was also critically injured and is being treated in hospital. Another man involved was treated in hospital, however he has been discharged. The road has since been re-opened.
