Appeal for Witnesses After Vehicle Arson In Moira
Police in Lisburn have launched an investigation after a van was deliberately set on fire in the Moira area on Sunday night.
The PSNI received a report around 10.30pm on Sunday, 2 November 2025, of a van on fire in the Lisburn Road area of Moira. Officers attended the scene along with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), who successfully extinguished the blaze.
Detective Inspector Keon confirmed the extent of the damage:
"The front of the van – a white transit custom vehicle – was significantly burnt, with damage also caused to the side of the van. The fire is being treated as deliberate ignition." The PSNI is appealing to members of the public who were in the area around the time of the incident, between 10.00pm and 10.30pm on Sunday night, to contact them.
The police are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have information or who might have dash-cam or other footage which could assist with their ongoing enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the 101 number, quoting reference 1538 of 02/11/25.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a petrol bomb attack on a van in Larne in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 16 May. At approximately 12.30am this morning, police were called to a report of a van on fire in the Greenland Parade area of the town.

Post Office Van Driver Hijacked In West Belfast
A post office van driver has been hijacked and threatened with a knife in west Belfast. The vehicle was stolen in Ross Road on Tuesday which was later found abandoned in the Valleyside Close area. A security alert was launched and the part of the Springfield Road was closed on Wednesday, however it has since been re-opened.
