United Wines Launches Designated Driver Campaign

United Wines, a major drinks distributor based in Craigavon, is continuing its efforts to promote road safety over the festive period by launching its annual Designated Driver campaign, beginning on Monday, 17 November.

The company is rewarding the "unsung heroes" who commit to staying sober and driving their friends home by offering a complimentary non-alcoholic beer.

As demand for no- and low-alcohol options continues to rise, designated drivers can choose a free bottle of either Heineken®0.0 or Birra Moretti Zero.

David Greenlees, United Wines Brand Manager, stated that the campaign aims to "drive the important message of getting home safely and keeping our roads alcohol free."

He noted that with taxi shortages making safe transport more difficult, the campaign rewards drivers and ensures they "feel part of the party".

To claim the offer, drivers simply need to identify themselves and show their car keys to bar staff at participating venues. A full list of venues is available on the United Wines website.

Last year, the initiative resulted in over 2,400 free bottles being claimed, contributing to more than 2,000 safe journeys home. The campaign forms part of global drinks giant Heineken's wider drive to promote responsible drinking.
