Infrastructure Minister Attends Disabled People's Parliament
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins attended the Disabled People's Parliament at the Northern Ireland Assembly today, Monday 24 November 2025, to hear first-hand experiences and concerns directly from participants.
The Parliament provides an important platform for disabled people to share their lived experiences and raise a series of issues directly with Ministers and MLAs.
Minister Kimmins stressed the vital role of her department in society: "Infrastructure is central to everything we do as a society, and I am determined to deliver positive changes for all." She highlighted that 'Including People' is one of the Department for Infrastructure’s seven 'Foundations for a Better Future'. This commitment underlines the Minister's focus on working directly with disabled people to enhance inclusiveness and accessibility across all services provided by the Department.
"It was important for me to attend today to hear at first hand from participants in the parliament and to hear about their own experiences," the Minister added, signalling her intention to incorporate the views of the disabled community into future policy and delivery.
