Man Seriously Injured In Conlig Aggravated Burglary

Police have launched an investigation following a violent aggravated burglary at a residential property in Conlig, Newtownards, on the night of Tuesday, 25 November 2025.

The incident was reported to police shortly after 11.30pm when four masked intruders forced their way into a home on Main Street by smashing the front door. The men then attacked the occupant with weapons, including a claw hammer.

Detective Sergeant Gray confirmed the victim sustained serious injuries, including suspected fractures and open wounds. He is currently receiving treatment in hospital, although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The four assailants are described as men in their twenties, all wearing black clothing and balaclavas.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen men fitting this description in the area around the time of the incident. They are also asking anyone who may have relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage to contact them immediately.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1675 25/11/25.

Detectives Appeal for Information After Pipe Bomb Explodes in Broughshane
Detectives are appealing for information following the explosion of a device at Rectory Gardens in Broughshane on Wednesday 27th May. Appeal For Information On Dervock Stabbing Incident
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information on a stabbing incident in Dervock in Ballymoney on the evening of Sunday 30 July. At approximately 9.50pm, police received a report that two men had been stabbed during an altercation outside a bar in the Carncullagh Road area of the town.

Ards Vehicle Fire Being Treated As Arson
A vehicle fire in Newtownards in the early hours of Sunday 23 April is being treated as arson, the PSNI has reported. Shortly after 1.20am, police received a report that the window of a Ford Transit van, parked in the Upper Greenwell Street area, had been smashed and a fire started in the front cabin.

The PSNI has recorded its highest ever figure for incidents of domestic violence between September 2017 and 2018. There were 31,008 reports of abuse cases in the period, an increase of 5.4% on the previous 12 months and the highest figure since records began in 2004.

Man Arrested Over Serious Assault In Belfast City Centre
A man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Belfast city centre in the early hours of Sunday 02 April. Detective Sergeant Kennedy said: "Shortly after 4:05am, it was reported that three men were assaulted in the area by another man. Three 18-year-old men were taken to hospital for their injuries.
