Belfast Tech Firms Announce £4.1m Investment And New Jobs
Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald has announced that seven Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Belfast are collectively investing over £4.1 million to stimulate growth.
This investment, supported by Invest NI, is set to create 33 new jobs across the companies in the areas of research and development (R&D) and export growth.
The seven companies making the investment are: Bia Analytical, Enzai Technologies, Galvia Digital, Medinect Bioservices, Movetru, Rubik Technologies, and TieDot Digital.
Making the announcement during a visit to Ormeau Labs, where three of the companies are based, the Minister emphasised the importance of supporting the SME economy.
"Each of the companies making these investments has accessed a broad range of support from Invest NI. This is enabling them to invest in innovation, help boost productivity, create good jobs and grow sales in the south, Britain, and the USA," Dr Archibald said.
Over the last three years, the companies have collectively received nearly £590,000 in financial assistance and expert advice from Invest NI across trade, R&D, and market development. The investment is heavily focused on technological advancement and international sales:
Bia Analytical, an AI-powered food integrity company, is investing in R&D and creating six new jobs to commercialise food fraud detection products and develop portable testing tools.
Enzai Technologies is creating five new roles in business development and customer support to grow its AI governance software business across North America, Europe, and Asia. Co-Founder Ryan Donnelly stated the company intends to "scale it from here too, as we service customers across North America, Europe and Asia."
Movetru, which tracks elite athlete performance, is growing its team to enhance its technology, boost sales, and expand its company visibility across Great Britain, Ireland, and the USA.
Rubik Technologies is creating six new jobs to increase capacity and productivity, focusing on helping manufacturers drive digital transformation and grow sales outside Northern Ireland.
Susan O’Kane, Head of Regional Business for the Belfast City Region at Invest NI, highlighted that these companies are "brilliant examples" of homegrown talent within Northern Ireland's £3.4 billion tech sector, leading the way in areas such as AI governance and biotechnology.
