Further Appeal For Information Following East Belfast Fatal Collision
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has named the pedestrian who died after a road traffic collision in east Belfast on Saturday, 29 November, as 71-year-old John Atkinson, from the Stormont area of Belfast.
Chief Inspector Simpson, of the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Police received a report at approximately 10.40pm on Saturday evening of a collision involving a Mercedes Vito and a pedestrian on the Upper Newtownards Road." "Our officers attended, alongside our colleagues from partner emergency services. Sadly, Mr Atkinson was pronounced deceased at hospital a short time later.
"Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision, and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage which may assist with our enquiries.
"If you can assist, please contact Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 1677 of 29/11/25, or submit information online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/."

Police confirmed that they received a report at approximately 12:10pm of a serious road traffic collision involving a silver Peugeot Partner van on the Grange Road.

Woman Dies Following Collision In Newtownabbey
A woman has died in hospital following a collision on the Doagh Road in Newtownabbey on Monday, 13th January. Shortly before 6.15pm, police received a report of a collision involving a grey Seat Ateca and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 80s, was taken to hospital but has since died as a result of her injuries.
