The role is fast-paced, challenging and rewarding. Every call is different and demands composure under pressure, quick decision-making and strong communication skills. Control room teams play a crucial part in public safety, supporting Firefighters on the ground and assisting the public during emergencies.

Successful applicants will complete a minimum 10-week training programme, with clear pathways for career progression into roles including Crew Commander, Watch Commander and Station Commander Control.

NIFRS describes this as a unique opportunity to make a daily difference by being the reassuring voice on the line when people need help most.
