Police Appeal Following Serious Incident In Portadown

An investigation has been launched after a man was found with life-threatening injuries in Portadown early on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the situation at approximately 6am on 20 January, following reports of a man found injured in the Loughgall Road area. It is believed the individual may have been struck by a vehicle.

Inspector Walker provided details on the initial response, stating: "Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and medical treatment was provided to the man for a significant head injury."

The man was subsequently transported to hospital, where his condition is described as critical. Police are now working to establish exactly how the injuries were sustained, with a primary focus on a potential collision with a car.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives are particularly interested in the movements of a specific vehicle.

Inspector Walker added: "One line of enquiry we're investigating is that he was involved in a collision with a car. We want to hear from anyone who was in the area prior to the time of the report and noticed what happened to make contact with us on 101, quoting reference number 116 20/01/26. We're also especially keen to hear from anyone who has dash-cam or other video footage that could help our investigation, and who noticed a blue Skoda Octavia in the area around the time of the report."
