Martin & Roman Kemp To Explore Ireland In New Channel 4 Series
Tourism Ireland has announced a brand-new, three-part television series featuring the well-known father-and-son team, Martin and Roman Kemp.
The travelogue, produced by Rock Oyster Media, is scheduled to air on Channel 4 across Great Britain later this year.
The series follows the pair as they investigate the island's rich folklore, delving into tales of ghosts, banshees, and ancient myths. The programme aims to show how these historic legends have transformed into the modern festivals and cultural experiences enjoyed by visitors today. During their journey through Northern Ireland, the Kemps visited Antrim, Derry-Londonderry, and Tyrone. Their trip was far from a quiet tour; the duo participated in high-energy activities including coasteering along the Causeway Coast and trying their hand at the sport of hurling. They also immersed themselves in local culture by learning to play the uilleann pipes and attending traditional storytelling sessions in local pubs.
Beyond Northern Ireland, the road trip also saw the duo travelling through Dublin, Meath, Kildare, and Cork to uncover the music and customs that have defined the island for centuries.
Judith Cassidy, Tourism Ireland's Acting Head of GB, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating: "We are delighted to welcome Martin and Roman Kemp to film all about the ancient stories and traditions that make this island unique. Their journey will highlight our stunning scenery and rich heritage, capturing viewers' imaginations and inspiring them to come and explore Northern Ireland for their next holiday."
This partnership with Channel 4 forms a central part of Tourism Ireland's strategy to promote Northern Ireland as a premier holiday destination to audiences in Great Britain and further afield.
