Antrim And Newtownabbey Careers Fair Offers Gateway To Future Success

Students and school leavers throughout the Antrim and Newtownabbey area are invited to explore their professional and educational futures at the upcoming Careers and Apprenticeships Fair.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday 4 February 2026, and will take place at Theatre at The Mill between 5pm and 9pm.

Organised by the Antrim and Newtownabbey Labour Market Partnership and supported by the Department for Communities, this free event acts as a central hub for young people. More than 60 exhibitors, including local employers, universities, colleges, and training organisations, will be in attendance to offer direct advice on various career pathways.

The fair is designed to assist those considering their next steps, whether that involves pursuing a university degree, enrolling in a college course, starting an apprenticeship, or entering the workforce immediately.

Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, said: "Choosing the right career path can feel overwhelming for young people, and events like this play a vital role in opening doors and creating connections. The Careers and Apprenticeships Fair gives students and school leavers the chance to speak directly with employers and education providers, try new skills and gain confidence about their future. I would strongly encourage young people and their families to come along and make the most of this fantastic opportunity."

A highlight of the evening will be the return of the interactive 'Have A Go Zone'. Following a successful debut in 2025, this feature allows attendees to gain practical experience in various sectors. Previous zones have included hands-on activities in fields such as mechanics, horticulture, and beauty, providing a realistic look at different working environments.

Labour Market Partnerships work by developing specific employment action plans for council areas, facilitating collaboration between local and regional partners to help residents find and prepare for meaningful employment.
