Police Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Markethill
The PSNI is appealing for witnesses following an arson attack at a residential property in Markethill today, Wednesday 28 January.
Officers were alerted to the incident in the Bunker Hill area at approximately 3.40am. Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered evidence of a petrol bomb. The property sustained damage including a broken window pane and black scorch marks on the front door and the living room window frame.
Inspector Moffett confirmed that the house was empty at the time of the attack and no injuries have been reported. "Our enquiries are ongoing today to determine a motive and who was involved," Inspector Moffett stated. "We are keen to hear from anyone who noticed suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the report."
Police are urging anyone with information, particularly those with CCTV, dash-cam, or other footage from the area, to come forward.
Witnesses can contact the PSNI by calling 101, quoting reference number 104 28/01/26. Reports can also be submitted online via the non-emergency reporting form at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.

It was reported to police, that just before 11.15pm a man, aged in his 20s, was found with a gunshot wound to each leg in the Marianus Park area.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Appeal Issued Following Fire In L'Derry
Police are appealing for information following a fire in the Waterside area of L'Derry. The blaze at a site in Dunfield Terrace was reported at around 8.10pm. Inspector Swanson said: "This was a significant blaze. Thankfully, there have been no reports of anyone being injured.

A bomb blast at a house in Londonderry is being investigated by the police - with so called 'vigilantes' involved in the outrage. The house was badly smoke damaged in the overnight explosion where it has been reported that a masked man threw a device at the property on the Glenbank Road in the city at approximately 11pm on Monday.

Man Struck With Hammer In 'Vicious Assault'
A man has been hospitalised after he was struck on the head with a hammer during a "vicious assault" in County Antrim. A gang of males forced entry to a home in the Kellburn Park area of Ballyclare in the early hours of this morning, Friday 23 August. Police are treating the incident as a paramilitary style attack.
