Two Arrested As Large Drug Haul Seized In Draperstown
Detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch have arrested two individuals following a planned search operation in Draperstown on Wednesday, 28th January.
The search, which targeted a residential property in the Bradley Park area, resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs. Officers also seized a sum of cash and fireworks during the raid. The estimated street value of the confiscated substances is believed to be approximately £235,000.
A 22-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of several offences, including being concerned in the supply of both Class A and Class B drugs. Additionally, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply. Both suspects are currently being held for questioning. Detective Sergeant Martin stated: "Officers seized a quantity of suspected class A drugs and suspected class B drugs, alongside fireworks and cash, from a residential property in the Bradley Park area of the town."
Commenting on the arrests, Detective Sergeant Martin added: "A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs; while a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of offences including possession of class A and class B drugs with intent to supply. Both remain in custody at this time."
The Police Service has reiterated its commitment to disrupting the trade of illegal substances across the region.
Detective Sergeant Martin continued: "Tackling illegal drug supply is a priority for us. Today's search has led to the removal of an estimated £235,000 worth of suspected drugs from our streets. Drugs bring misery to individuals, families and communities. Our message is clear and simple: if you see or know of anyone who is dealing drugs in your local area, then contact us on 101 or make a report online via our website."
Members of the public can also share information anonymously by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and 'crack' cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.
