Disappointment for Derry in All-Ireland semis
Derry were found wanting as Kerry rediscovered the football form for which the Kingdom is famous in the All-Ireland Football semi-final on Sunday.
The Kingdom's supporters at Croke Park watched a game that saw Kerry overwhelm Derry in the second-half. The first period was a different story though as a Derry goal by Enda Muldoon in the 14th minute muted to green and gold support.
But Derry's attack faded as Kerry found renewed vigour to take ten points without reply from Derry in a spell that lasted a minute over the half-an-hour mark. Five wides by Derry could perhaps have helped contain the long Kerry scoring spree. Despite Kerry losing Darragh O'Se to an ankle injury, Kerry never looked under pressure and took their chances to lead by 0-8 to 1-4 at half-time.
The second-half saw no repeat of the slow Kerry start and the Kingdom took six more points to extend their lead. The goal that Kerry had always threatened to find came with five minutes to go and sealed the fate of Derry. Declan O'Sullivan forced the ball into the net, though it was amid discussion that he had taken more than the allowed number of steps. The Derry performance was compounded by a failure to score until the 57th minute when five late points by Derry was literally too little too late.
Kerry finished 1-17 to Derry's 1-11 and will face Mayo in the All-Ireland Football Final.

PSNI Conduct Road Safety Operation In L'Derry
The PSNI have carried out vehicle check points, speed checks and proactive patrolling in a road safety operation in L'Derry on Tuesday, 26 March. Local Response Policing Team (LPT) officers conducted high visibility checkpoints and patrols in areas including Eglinton, in the Waterside and Cityside.

Galway smash Derry hopes by sailing into semi finals
Galway sauntered through to the All-Ireland semi-final after disposing of Derry's challenge at Croke Park by 4-23 to 1-11 on Sunday afternoon. Eugene Cloonan and Kevin Broderick were in lethal scoring form for the Connaught favourites, giving a combined total of four goals and fourteen points. Cloonan scored 2-11 while Broderick bagged 2-3.
