Fatal Industrial Incident Reported In Omagh
The PSNI has confirmed the death of a man following a single-vehicle collision in Omagh on Monday, 2 February.
The incident, which involved a lorry and an industrial worker, occurred in the Donaghanie Road area of the town. Emergency services, including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, responded to the report shortly after 10:20 am. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Representatives from the Health and Safety Executive also attended the site. As of Monday evening, Donaghanie Road remained closed to traffic and was expected to stay shut throughout the night. Chief Inspector Simpson, from the Collision Investigation Unit, stated: "Shortly after 10.20am, police received a report of a collision involving a lorry and an industrial worker in the Donaghanie Road area of the town. Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene. Sadly, the man died at the scene. The Health and Safety Executive were also in attendance."
He added: "The Donaghanie Road remains closed this evening, and is expected to remain closed overnight. Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 410 of 02/02/26."
Police are urging anyone with information or relevant digital footage to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Mr Caddell, 22, died following the two-vehicle collision involving a car and a lorry on Monday, 10 April. The incident happened on the Manse Road at around 10.50am.
