Woman Dies In Fatal Templepatrick Collision
The PSNI has named the young woman who lost her life in a road traffic collision in Templepatrick on Saturday, 14 February, as 23-year-old Claudia Jaczyk.
Ms Jaczyk, who was from the Newtownabbey area, was the driver of a black Citroen C1 involved in a collision with a bus. The incident occurred on the Ballyrobin Road at approximately 8:00 am on Saturday morning.
Detective Inspector Stewart from the Collision Investigation Unit stated: "Police received a report of a two vehicle collision, involving a bus and a black Citroen C1, at approximately 8:00am on Saturday morning. Officers attended alongside emergency services partners, however the driver of the Citroen was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene." The driver of the bus, a man in his sixties, was transported to hospital with serious injuries. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
While the Ballyrobin Road was closed for a period to allow for a forensic examination of the scene, all diversions have since been lifted and the route has fully reopened to traffic.
Police enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing. The Collision Investigation Unit has issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant digital footage to come forward.
Detective Inspector Stewart added: "Our enquiries are continuing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 341 14/02/26."

Five-Year Low For Northern Ireland Petrol Prices
Petrol prices at Northern Ireland forecourts have dropped to 124.2p per litre, the lowest level recorded since May 2021, following a year of relative stability. Diesel remains unchanged at an average of 131.9p per litre. Prices are still well below the peak seen in June 2022 after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when average unleaded reached 189.
