Police Appeal After Knife-Wielding Intruder Targets South Belfast Home

The Police Service of Northern Ireland is requesting public assistance following an aggravated burglary that took place in south Belfast on the afternoon of Saturday, 14 February.

The incident occurred in the Eblana Street area around 5:00 pm. Reports indicate that a male armed with a knife entered the living room of a residential property. Two other unidentified males were observed waiting outside the premises during the intrusion.

Upon discovering the armed individual, the occupants of the house fled the room. When they eventually returned to the area, they discovered that their television had been stolen. The matter was reported to the police shortly after 6:00 pm.

Detective Sergeant Andrews, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that enquiries are currently ongoing. Authorities are keen to speak with anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the vicinity or who may have captured relevant footage.

"We received a report at around 6.05pm that a man carrying a knife had entered the living room of a property at around 5pm in the Eblana Street area, with two other unknown males also seen waiting outside," said Detective Sergeant Andrews.

"The occupants fled from the room when the male entered and, upon their return, noticed that the TV was missing.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or who has any information, including CCTV, dash-cam or other footage, to contact us on the 101 number, quoting reference 1249 of 14/02/26.
