Emergency Repairs Cause One-Way Closure on Great Victoria Street
NIE Networks has implemented an emergency one-way road closure on a major Belfast city centre thoroughfare following accidental third-party damage to an underground electricity cable.
The closure affects Great Victoria Street, city-bound, from the junction of Bruce Street to Grosvenor Road. The restriction came into effect at 6:30pm yesterday, Wednesday 4 March. A diversion is currently in place via Bruce Street, Bedford Street, and Howard Street to help manage traffic flow while engineers work around the clock to complete the repair.
NIE Networks has apologised for the inevitable disruption to commuters and residents. Road users are advised to allow extra time for any journeys through the city centre this morning or to seek alternative routes where possible.
For the latest updates and full traffic management details, motorists are encouraged to visit the Traffic Watch NI website.
