Boy In Critical Condition After Shankill Road Collision
Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision on the Shankill Road in Belfast on Saturday, 7 March.
The incident occurred near the junction with Boundary Street at approximately 7.25pm. The collision involved a grey BMW X5 and an 11-year-old male pedestrian.
The young boy was transported to hospital following the crash, where he currently remains in a critical condition.
A 34-year-old man was arrested by police at the scene. He has since been released on bail as further enquiries into the circumstances of the collision continue.
The Shankill Road was closed to traffic for several hours to facilitate an investigation but has since been reopened to the public.
Police enquiries are ongoing, and officers are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time. A spokesperson for the PSNI stated: "Police enquiries are continuing, and officers would ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have recorded footage which could assist with the investigation, to contact 101, quoting reference number 1365 07/03/26."
