Tech Firm iVerify Announces Expansion Of Belfast Operations
Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald has announced that the mobile security company iVerify is expanding its support and operations team in Belfast.
The announcement was made during a visit to the company's headquarters in New York, marking the conclusion of a week of diplomatic and economic engagements in the United States.
Founded in 2023, iVerify provides advanced security tools designed to protect mobile devices from sophisticated threats, including SIM swapping and mercenary spyware. The firm currently employs more than 40 people across its global operations.
Minister Archibald stated: "Foreign direct investment plays an important part in building our economic success. Over the past week I have met with business leaders and potential investors to showcase the many advantages of doing business in the north, from our skilled workforce to our commitment to innovation and sustainability. iVerify's reinvestment is a vote of confidence in this proposition."
The Minister added that Invest NI worked closely with the firm to secure the expansion: "The new jobs will provide excellent opportunities for local talent. The company also plans to collaborate with our universities to develop placement and graduate roles – helping those at all stages of their careers." Belfast was selected for the expansion following a competitive process involving other major UK cities, including London, Glasgow, and Manchester. The new roles, which include data analysts, support engineers, and full stack development engineers, carry an average salary of £78,000.
Danny Rogers, Co-Founder and CEO of iVerify, said: "We're thrilled to expand our footprint in Belfast, which currently houses much of our engineering team. Northern Ireland stands out for its world-class tech sector, the exceptional talent pool we've pulled from to date, and excellent academic research facilities in the field of cyber security. We're excited to continue investing in Northern Ireland."
Invest NI is providing both investor services and financial support for the project. Anne Beggs, Chief Commercial Officer at Invest NI, commented: "Invest NI is focused on building a strong, competitive economy that offers high-quality employment opportunities. iVerify's reinvestment in Northern Ireland not only strengthens our global reputation for exceptional talent but also brings significant international visibility to our world-class skills base."
She further noted that the inward investment teams in both the US and Northern Ireland were "instrumental" in securing the reinvestment by providing tailored guidance and showcasing the region's investment proposition.
