Two Arrested Following £100,000 Drug Seizure In L'Derry
Police in L'Derry have seized suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000.
The recovery was made by officers in the city yesterday, Wednesday 18 March. As part of the ongoing investigation, two men were arrested and both remain in police custody at this time.
Inspector Ian Ferriby, of Derry City & Strabane, highlighted the importance of removing such substances from the streets to prevent community harm. Derry City & Strabane Inspector Ian Ferriby said: "Seizures such as this reduce the harm the supply and use of illegal drugs cause. We also know that those who are involved in the sale and supply of illicit drugs have only one aim - to make money at the expense of the misery and harm they cause to others.
“We encourage anyone with information about drugs within communities, to tell us. You can speak to police on 101, or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, who guarantee anonymity.”
