Larne Police Appeal For Witnesses After Hit-And-Run Collision

The incident, which occurred at around 1.40pm near the junction of Ballyboley Road and Donaghys Lane, involved a teenage cyclist and a white jeep-style car. The boy was knocked onto the car’s bonnet and then onto the road, sustaining cuts and bruises that required hospital treatment. The driver stopped briefly to speak with the injured teenager before driving off. The vehicle is believed to have damage to its bonnet. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area, to contact police in Larne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 781 08/04/26. The PSNi have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Larne on Saturday, 21 October. A 61-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries he sustained when his red Case tractor was involved in a collision with a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec on the A8 dual carriageway, just outside Ballynure village.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Following a consultation exercise the Minister has decided to close the Hearing Centres at Bangor, Larne, Limavady and Magherafelt and retain the Hearing Centre in Strabane.

Larne Lough Search Resumes
The hunt continues today - against fading hopes - after a 29-year-old man went missing in Larne Lough at the weekend. Larne's Graeme Nixon has not been seen since his boat capsized on Mill Bay on Saturday afternoon. Mr Nixon was in a rowing boat, which overturned in Mill Bay while he was picking whelks.

Police Appeal Following Attempted Robbery At Bank In Larne
Police have launched an investigation following an attempted robbery at a bank in Larne. The PSNI are appealing for witnesses following the incident at Danske Bank on Main Street on Monday, 03 July. A man entered the premises at around 2.30pm and demanded money. He made off along Main Street empty-handed.
