Teenager Arrested On Suspicion Of Computer Misuse Offences
PSNI cyber crime detectives have detained a 16-year-old in Portadown as part of an investigation into reported network intrusion activity involving the Education Authority.
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Cyber Crime Investigation Team arrested the male on suspicion of offences contrary to Sections 1, 2 and 3A of the Computer Misuse Act 1990. He was arrested earlier today, Wednesday 15 April, in the Portadown area and has since been released pending further enquiries. A follow-up search was also conducted.
The arrest forms part of an ongoing inquiry into a report received on Thursday 2 April of network intrusion activity involving the Education Authority.

SDLP Raises Concerns Over Education Authority
The SDLP is urging the Education Minister to introduce the recommendations of the Education Authority (EA) review as soon as possible. SDLP Education Spokesperson Daniel McCrossan made the call after a review was published on Wednesday, with 13 recommendations to address a multitude of problems within the organisation.
