Refurbished Belfast Harbour Marina Reopens With Seven Extra Berths

Belfast Harbour Marina has reopened following a refurbishment that adds capacity for yachts and leisure craft and upgrades facilities across the site.

Situated between Titanic Belfast and the SSE Arena, the marina's pontoons have been extended from 775 metres to more than 807 metres, increasing the total number of berths from 60 to 67. Each berth is equipped with water and pay-as-you-go electricity. Wider infrastructure has also been refreshed to support year-round operations. New restraint piles and an extension to Pontoon D have restored 12 berths that were previously restricted during winter and periods of adverse weather.

Driven by sustained growth in leisure boating over the past two decades, the marina has expanded in phases, with developments in 2009 and 2019 helping to accommodate major events such as the Tall Ships. The latest works, completed in 2026, respond to seasonal peaks in demand from both long-term berth holders and visiting vessels.

The marina can accommodate recreational vessels up to 25 metres with a maximum draught of 3.7 metres. Onshore amenities include showers, kitchen and laundry facilities, along with free wi-fi.

The site received Blue Flag accreditation for the first time in 2025, recognising high standards of environmental management and visitor facilities.

Duncan Paterson, Marina Manager, Belfast Harbour said: "Demand to use the marina is extremely strong, with a solid base of long-term berth holders alongside visiting leisure craft, and that's driving ongoing discussions around further expansion.

"Ultimately, this isn't just about berths, it's about enhancing the waterfront. The marina plays a key role in attracting visitors, supporting local businesses, and contributing to Belfast's maritime heritage. With its prime location, it has real potential to increase tourism, footfall, and even create both direct and indirect employment opportunities in the area."
