Ballycastle Hotel Fire Being Treated as Arson

Police have launched an investigation following a deliberate fire at a derelict hotel in Ballycastle on Sunday, 20th April.

The blaze, which occurred at a property on Castle Street, was reported to the authorities shortly after 8pm. Police officers attended the scene and implemented several road closures in the immediate vicinity to allow Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service personnel to extinguish the flames safely. All affected streets have since been reopened to traffic.

Detectives are currently treating the incident as a deliberate act and are conducting ongoing enquiries to determine the full circumstances.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers would ask anyone with information about this incident, or who may have captured dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area which could help with their investigation, to call them at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1487 19/04/26.
