Man Released On Bail After East Belfast Security Alert
A man in his 40s has been bailed after a security alert in the Victor Street area of east Belfast, with police continuing enquiries and appealing for information.
The man, who was arrested following the incident, was released on police bail to allow further investigation. Officers discovered a suspicious device in the area after a report was received on Wednesday 22 April. Enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 687 of 22/04/26. Reports can also be submitted online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org/.

The £1.9 million project began in September 2025 and had been scheduled to finish in summer 2026, but the route will now reopen at 4.
