Record Supercar Turnout in Belfast Raises Thousands for Cancer Charity
Charles Hurst Group has celebrated a milestone achievement at its latest 'Cars & Coffee' charity event, hosting a record-breaking crowd of nearly 1,000 attendees. The free event, held at the group's Belfast headquarters on Boucher Road on Saturday 18 April, brought together motoring enthusiasts, volunteers, and fundraisers to view an unprecedented line-up of luxury supercars.
The gathering raised £2,100 for Northern Ireland Pancreatic Cancer, a figure that Charles Hurst has pledged to increase to a total donation of £3,000. This funding will support the charity's efforts in awareness, research, and providing assistance to local families impacted by the disease. The partnership follows previous successful collaborations with Cancer Fund for Children and Dementia NI in recent years.
Since its inception in 2019, the event has grown into a significant regional attraction. This year's showcase featured an extensive display of Ferrari models, including the SF90 XX Spider, the 812 Competizione, and the classic Ferrari 250 Short Wheel Base. Attendees also viewed high-performance vehicles from brands such as Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and McLaren, with specific highlights including a Maserati 150 S and an Aston Martin F1 race car. Jeff McCartney, Group Operations Director at Charles Hurst, commented: "Cars & Coffee is one of our biggest community-focused highlights of the year and we were thrilled to mark our biggest and best event yet with a record crowd and participation from car owners from right across the island who enjoyed an electric atmosphere, great fun and good weather. Since its foundation in 2019 with Charles Hurst Ferrari, we're thrilled that this event continues to grow year-on-year and now includes all specialist brands, creating yet another compelling reason for car lovers to visit the Boucher Road retail complex. I'm really grateful for the support of our staff, volunteers and our charity partner NI Pancreatic Cancer for making the event such a success and delighted that together we raised vital funds for one of Northern Ireland's most-deserving charities."
Ivan McMinn MBE, Chair of NI Pancreatic Cancer, added: "We were thrilled to be chosen as Charles Hurst's charity partner for the event which provided not only a vital fundraising opportunity for us but a unique opportunity to raise awareness about our work to improve the outcomes of pancreatic cancer, and provide support to patients and their families and I'd like to thank our team and volunteers and to everyone who supported us on the day."
The event was supported by local partners including Lisnasure Farm, the Neighbourhood Café, and Smoke BBQ.
