NI Water Highlights Hydration as Key Study Aid for Exam Season
As the summer exam season begins and students enter study leave, NI Water is advising young people to prioritise hydration to support their academic performance and overall wellbeing.
The company has highlighted that staying hydrated is a simple yet effective way to enhance focus, memory, and energy levels during the busy revision and project period. Water is essential for basic bodily functions, aiding in the preservation of vital nutrients, flushing out toxins, and supporting digestion and joint health. Anna Killen, NI Water's Education Officer, stated: "Now that exams are underway and students are on study leave, many young people may notice dips in concentration and motivation. Proper hydration is vital – water not only sharpens your mind, but also reduces tiredness and muscle cramps, supports healthy skin, bones, and hair, and provides extra energy when it matters most."
The advice is part of NI Water's "Water for Health" campaign, which aims to remind the public that even mild dehydration can result in increased fatigue and lower levels of alertness.
Ms. Killen added: "We recommend aiming for 6-8 glasses each day. Water is fundamental to everyone's health, so let's make it a priority for self-care and peak performance."
