Police Ombudsman Launches Investigation into Cookstown Incident

The Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland has launched an investigation into an incident involving a police vehicle that occurred in Cookstown on Tuesday 5 May 2026.

The incident took place around 1:45pm near the junction where Killymoon Street meets Killymoon Road.

Ombudsman investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the event, or anyone who may possess mobile phone or dashcam footage of what occurred, to come forward.
