Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a serious assault occurred in west Belfast on the morning of Sunday 7 June.

At around 2.15am, officers received a report concerning a man who had sustained a head injury in the Falls Road area. The nature of his wounds was consistent with having been assaulted.

Members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland attended the scene alongside crews from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. The injured man was transported to hospital for medical treatment, and his condition has been described as serious at this time.

Following the incident, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He currently remains in police custody. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone who was present in the vicinity at the time to come forward. Investigators are particularly keen to review any CCTV, dashcam, or other footage that could aid their enquiries.
