Belfast City Council, working with the Belfast Labour Market Partnership, will host a Job Fair at St George's Market on Wednesday 24 June, running from 11am to 2pm. More than 70 exhibitors from sectors including construction, transport, security, health and social care, enterprise, hospitality, and professional and business services will attend, with many actively recruiting for current vacancies. Representatives from the council's Employment Academies will outline tailored training programmes designed to help people gain qualifications, build confidence and move into employment. Funded by the Department for Communities, Labour Market Partnerships create targeted employment action plans for council areas, enabling collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work. The free-to-attend fair is open to everyone, with support organisations on hand to offer practical guidance on CV preparation, job applications, interview techniques, and pathways into training or starting a business. Councillor Joe Duffy, Chair of the council's City Growth and Regeneration Committee, said: "The Belfast Job Fair is a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering their next move, whether they are entering the workforce, returning to employment looking to develop new skills or exploring a completely different career path. "This event will connect key employers and training providers with talented people seeking new work, new skills or a completely new direction in their work journey. "It reflects council's commitment to supporting people into employment and helping businesses find the skilled workforce they need. We look forward to welcoming visitors from across the city and beyond to this year's Job Fair." No advance registration is required. Doors open at 11am via the Oxford Street entrance and close at 2pm. A quiet time will operate from 10.30 to 11am for jobseekers who prefer lower noise levels and reduced crowds.
