Henderson Technology Hits 1,000 EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen Milestone

Henderson Technology has marked a major milestone with the deployment of its 1,000th EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen, reflecting increasing retailer appetite for dynamic in-store signage that engages shoppers, highlights promotions and reduces reliance on printed POS.

The milestone installation was completed at an independent Jempson’s Supermarkets store alongside a new Barista Bar coffee-to-go machine. Barista Bar is the coffee-to-go brand owned by Henderson Foodservice Ltd. The achievement comes four years after the first EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen was introduced. Today, the technology is in use at more than 800 retail locations across the UK, with some operators running multiple screens per store.

Created to give retailers a flexible and impactful way to speak to customers, EDGEPoS Digital Media Screens showcase a broad range of promotional and informational content. From coffee-to-go and foodservice deals to seasonal activity, store announcements and limited-time offers, the platform helps keep messaging fresh, relevant and engaging.

In contrast to printed POS, content can be updated remotely and scheduled in advance, enabling swift responses to changing campaigns and trading opportunities. With Henderson Technology managing scheduling and deployment centrally, retailers benefit from significant time savings and avoid routine poster and point-of-sale changeovers by store teams.

Adoption has accelerated as retailers look for more agile and cost-effective customer communications while maintaining consistency across their estates. Campaigns can be refreshed quickly to reflect seasonal trends, supplier promotions and key trading events throughout the year.

Darren Nickels, Retail Technology Operations Director at Henderson Technology, said: "Reaching 1,000 EDGEPoS Digital Media Screen installations is a significant milestone for Henderson Technology and reflects the growing demand for digital signage solutions within the convenience and forecourt sectors.

"Retailers are increasingly looking for ways to communicate more effectively with customers while improving operational efficiency. The ability to update content quickly and maintain consistency across multiple locations has made digital signage an increasingly important part of the modern retail environment.

"As retailers continue to look for ways to enhance customer engagement and respond quickly to changing market conditions, we are committed to developing solutions that help them create more connected, efficient and engaging store environments."

Henderson Technology's hardware range spans from 32-inch to 76-inch displays, with portrait and landscape options, and supports Full HD and 4K resolutions to suit different store formats and requirements.

By integrating digital signage within its broader retail technology portfolio, Henderson Technology is helping retailers turn static displays into dynamic marketing tools that enhance customer engagement, offer greater promotional agility and improve operational efficiency.
