Lough Erne Resort Leads Northern Ireland In Golf World’s New European Luxe List
Fermanagh's Lough Erne Resort has been named Northern Ireland's highest-placed venue in Golf World's inaugural Top 100 Luxe Resorts Europe, debuting at 33rd.
The accolade strengthens the resort's standing among Europe's leading golf destinations, where elite golf is paired with exceptional hospitality, accommodation and overall guest experience across Continental Europe, Great Britain and Ireland.
It follows recognition earlier this year when Lough Erne rose 11 spots to 65th in Golf World's Top 100 Golf Resorts in the World.
The first Luxe ranking, compiled by Golf World's Top 100 Courses and Resorts team with an expert judging panel, evaluated venues on four pillars: golf courses, accommodation, amenities and setting, highlighting places that deliver luxury on and off the course.
Set amid the Fermanagh Lakelands, the resort features two championship courses. The acclaimed Faldo Course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, was recently listed among Golf World's Top 10 Parkland Courses in Great Britain and Ireland, while the Castle Hume Course has staged 10 Ulster PGA Championships and remains a favourite with golfers of all abilities. Barry McCauley, Director of Golf at Lough Erne Resort, said: "To receive recognition in both Golf World's global and European rankings within the same year is a tremendous achievement for the Resort and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.
"Being the highest-ranked resort from Northern Ireland in this ranking is something we are immensely proud of, especially as it celebrates the complete resort experience. While we're incredibly proud of our championship golf offering, it's equally rewarding to see our accommodation, hospitality, facilities and stunning lakeside setting recognised alongside some of Europe's most iconic golf destinations."
Mark Ward and Jeff Mahan of TRU Hotels and Resorts LLC, the US-based operators of Lough Erne Resort, added: "These latest accolades further reinforce Lough Erne Resort's standing as one of Europe's premier golf and leisure destinations. To be recognised on both a global and European stage reflects the significant investment, commitment and passion that goes into delivering a world-class experience for every guest who visits the Resort.
"We are delighted to see the Resort continuing to earn recognition alongside some of the most respected names in international golf tourism."
