McReynolds Welcomes AirAsia-Airbus Order
Alliance East Belfast MLA Peter McReynolds has welcomed AirAsia's order for 150 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, valued at around £14 billion, noting that wings and fuselage for the model are produced in Belfast and saying the deal will strengthen the region's aerospace sector.
Mr McReynolds said: "This announcement marks a significant day for our world class aerospace industry, and to be able to welcome a deal of this scale and value is fantastic.
"Whilst it's testament to the skills and talent of the workforce we have based here at the site in East Belfast in particular, this will inevitably have a ripple effect on the wider supply chain right across Northern Ireland as well.
"Crucially, it sends a message loud and clear that Belfast and Northern Ireland are well and truly open for business, with exceptional skills on offer and there to be invested in."

McReynolds Urges Stronger Paternity Leave And Flexible Working
Peter McReynolds, an Alliance MLA for East Belfast, has organised the Belfast Parent Strike, part of the UK's first Parent Strike, to be held at Belfast City Hall at 12.30pm on Thursday 27 August. The day of action, coordinated by The Dad Shift and Flex Appeal, will take place in 13 locations across the UK.
