Met Office Issues Yellow Warning For Showers And Thunderstorms
Showers and thunderstorms could disrupt travel and outdoor events across Northern Ireland on Tuesday 4 August 2026, with a yellow warning in force from 12pm to 9pm.
What to expect:
- Localised flooding of a small number of homes and businesses is likely, with some damage to buildings or structures.
- Spray, standing water and/or hail may make driving difficult, leading to longer journey times for road users and bus services.
- Delays to rail services are possible.
- Lightning strikes could cause damage to a few buildings and structures.
- Short-term power cuts and disruption to other services are likely.
The alert covers Counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone.
