Archibald Urges Students To Seek Careers Guidance After Results
Young people receiving their results are being encouraged by Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald to speak with a careers adviser to consider the full range of pathways available.
Congratulating those receiving results, the Minister said: "I want every young person to be able to learn and to thrive. There are many options open to you as you begin this exciting new chapter in your lives.
"My Department's Careers Service is here to support you with these crucial next steps and help you confidently take the path that is right for you." Head of the Careers Service, Justin Kerr, explained: "The Careers Service can help explore a range of pathways, with access to up-to-date labour market information on further education, higher education, training and employment opportunities.
"There is also a wide range of information online to support those conversations and decisions. Students and parents/carers can find information on the nidirect careers website or speak to the Careers Service by calling 0300 200 7820."
Telephone and webchat support are available Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, excluding public holidays. Further details, including Careers Service data, are available on the Department for the Economy's website. The Department said 78 careers advisers are on hand to help people progress towards their chosen pathway.

Two men have been detained after a stabbing was reported in south Belfast on Wednesday evening, 12 August, the Police Service of Northern Ireland has said. Detective Inspector Harvey said: "At around 7.30pm, officers received and responded to a report that a man had been stabbed in the Fitzroy Avenue area of the city.
