Translink’s 1.7 Million Fleadh Journeys Signal Success, Says Reilly
More than 1.7 million journeys were made on Translink services during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast, which Aisling Reilly said underlines the event's success.
The West Belfast MLA said: "With 620,000 more journeys recorded over the Fleadh compared to the same period last year, it shows how many people wanted to come to Belfast to experience the truly historic Fleadh. She added: "I want to commend Translink for their planning and preparations to ensure transport services were available for users throughout the week.
"And I also want to pay huge tribute to the Translink staff who worked tirelessly over this period.
"While there will be learnings to take from the scale of the Fleadh, I am confident that next year will be bigger and better than ever and I'm sure Translink are already putting plans in place to deliver another excellent service.
"To see so many people using public transport to get to the Fleadh shows how it can support a vibrant city centre that is safe, accessible and people-focused."
