Detectives are appealing for information after a petrol bomb attack on a residential property in the Hatfield Street area of Belfast in the early hours of Saturday 15 August. Officers said two masked men approached the home, with one device igniting and damaging a window before the pair fled towards Balfour Avenue. The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service put out the fire and those inside the house were unharmed. Detective Sergeant Faulkner said: "Shortly before 00:50am, it was reported to police that two masked men approached a property. It was reported that one of the men threw a petrol bomb at the front of the house, which ignited and caused damage to a window. The second man threw another object at the property, but it did not ignite. The men made off towards the Balfour Avenue area and the fire was extinguished by colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service. A number of people were inside the property at the time of the incident, but no reports of any injuries.
