Autumn Fair Returns To Botanic Gardens With Free Family Festivities

Belfast's popular Autumn Fair returns to Botanic Gardens this September with a full programme of family-friendly activities, crafts, food and live entertainment.

The free annual event takes place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, featuring the Autumn Flower Show with prize-winning blooms, giant seasonal vegetables and striking floral art displays.

This year also marks the 40th Anniversary Exhibition of the Northern Ireland Bonsai Society, with bonsai advice, demonstrations, calligraphy and more.

Lord Mayor of Belfast, Róis-Máire Donnelly said: "Tá muid fíor-bhródúil as na háiteanna glasa fá Bhéal Feirste agus éiríonn siad níos deise fós san Fhómhar - sámpla iontach de seo ná Aonach an Fhómhair a bheas ar siúl in Botanic Gardens.

"Belfast takes immense pride in its beautiful green spaces, and the Autumn Fair is the perfect showcase of the changing of the seasons in the stunning Botanic Gardens.

"This year's event is packed with free family entertainment, incredible floral displays, live music from acts such as The Professionals and The Drifters and local stalls that showcase the fantastic talent and produce our city has to offer!

The fair coincides with European Heritage Open Days, with free, ticketed historical tours of Botanic Gardens and its glasshouses, where visitors will also enjoy performances by acclaimed local harpist Ursula Burns.

Budding artists can pre-register for watercolour workshops in both the Tropical Ravine and the Palm House.

Eco-conscious visitors can explore the Sustainable Living Emporium, offering cookery demonstrations, willow workshops, planting activities, free books and lifestyle advice.
