Enterprising Women Unveils Autumn/Winter Support Across Mid And East Antrim
A new season of the Enterprising Women programme has been launched to provide support, inspiration and networking opportunities for women in business across Mid and East Antrim.
Shaped by feedback from network members, the autumn/winter line-up is tailored to women at every stage of their business journey—whether starting up, scaling an established company or seeking to broaden professional connections.
The schedule includes hands-on workshops on finance, Meta Ads and confidence building, alongside a series of networking events designed to help participants exchange ideas, learn from peers and grow their ventures.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Thomas Gordon, said: "The positive impact of Enterprising Women is a valuable way to showcase the Council's investment in local entrepreneurs. The opportunities to improve confidence, expand networks and get any needed support allows female entrepreneurs from across Mid and East Antrim to strengthen our local economy. I'm delighted to see the new season programme launched and look forward to seeing even more women benefit from this fantastic initiative."
Established in 2018, the dedicated female business network now has more than 180 members across the Borough, spanning sectors including retail, tourism, artisan and professional services.
Kelli McRoberts, CEO of Carrickfergus Enterprise, added: "We have once again listened to our members and have put together an exciting programme of events, ensuring the topics and speakers truly reflect what matters to them. The continued growth of our network is fantastic and offers up new insights and networking opportunities. I look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new members to what promises to be a fantastic season ahead."

Mount Charles has been chosen as the new catering partner for Northern Ireland Hospice under a four-year arrangement. The agreement runs for an initial three years with the option to extend by a further year, and will see the independent, family-owned company provide food services for residents, staff and visitors across the Hospice.

Witness Appeal After Armed Robbery In Middletown, Armagh
Police are seeking information after a masked man armed with a suspected small handgun robbed a bureau de change at a filling station on Monaghan Road, Middletown, on Saturday, 22 August, before fleeing in a blue Volkswagen Passat. A report of the incident was received at about 1pm.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after a series of overnight break-ins at homes in north Belfast. Police said multiple properties were targeted in the Cavehill Road, Antrim Road and Oldpark areas between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, with cash and items taken. One stolen car was recovered and another remains missing.

Givan Hails Northern Ireland Pupils For Strong GCSE Results
Education Minister Paul Givan has congratulated students across Northern Ireland after this year's GCSE outcomes were released. In total, over 32,000 young people received results, with 83.6% achieving grade C/4 and above (compared with 83.5% in 2025) and 31.7% attaining grade A/7 and higher (31.6% in 2025).
