Foyle Port has unveiled a new partnership with Foyle Women's Aid, the L'Derry based charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The charity was selected by staff following a nomination and vote, with Foyle Women’s Aid emerging as employees' preferred partner.

Under the tie-up, the port will provide £15,000 in funding over the next year as Foyle Women’s Aid approaches its 50th anniversary. The support will help the charity’s awareness-raising, preventive education and assistance for those affected by domestic and sexual abuse across the North West.

The collaboration will benefit vulnerable women in Derry~Londonderry, Strabane, Limavady and Dungiven, and forms part of Foyle Port’s wider corporate social responsibility programme and commitment to its local community. As part of the partnership, Foyle Women's Aid will deliver specialist training to Foyle Port staff on the company’s new Domestic Abuse Policy to promote an informed and safe workplace.

The announcement continues Foyle Port's record of supporting local charities, having previously partnered with addiction charity HURT NI and depression charity AWARE NI.
