NI Water Education Team Tours Schools As New Term Begins
As pupils return to the classroom, NI Water's education team is back out across Northern Ireland, bringing its Wonderful World of Water activities to schools for a busy new term.
The free education programme helps pupils learn where water comes from, how it is treated, why it matters, and the everyday actions everyone can take to use water wisely and protect the environment.
Schools can book classroom workshops and assemblies, as well as visits to NI Water's education centres at Silent Valley and the Wastewater Heritage Centre in Belfast.
Anna Killen, NI Water's Education Officer, said: "The start of a new school year is always an exciting time for the education team and we are delighted to be invited back into classrooms across Northern Ireland.
"Our sessions are designed to be fun, engaging and informative, helping pupils understand the journey of water from source to tap, the science behind clean drinking water and the important role we all play in protecting this precious resource.
"After a brilliant summer meeting young people at events and supporting school and community gardening projects with water butts, we are ready for the busy school year ahead. Our diary is filling up quickly, but there are still a limited number of spaces available, so we would encourage teachers to get in touch as soon as possible."
The NI Water education programme supports curriculum delivery and fosters interest in STEM subjects, sustainability, climate change, plastic pollution and water efficiency.

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced a £380,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the A5 in Omagh. The project, which covers Great Northern Road, the Derry Road Roundabout and Beltany Road, is scheduled to start on Monday 7 September 2026.
