The Police Service of Northern Ireland has confirmed a woman died following a three-vehicle collision in Lisburn over the weekend.

She was 40-year-old Karen Stewart from the Portadown area.

Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Police received a report at around 11.06am on Saturday, 19th September of a collision involving a Ford Kuga, Citroen C5 and a BMW on the Moira Road, at the junction of Crewe Park Road.

"Officers attended the scene, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. "Five people – including four adults and a child – were subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.

"We can now confirm that, sadly, a woman who was driving the Ford Kuga, later died in hospital from her injuries.
