InterTradeIreland To Unite SMEs At Trade Connects 2026 For All-Island Opportunities
With cross-border trade at a record €17.24 billion/£14.6 billion, InterTradeIreland is convening businesses this autumn to explore routes to growth through the all-island market. Under its Trade Connects 2026 programme, two no-cost events will be held at The Alex Hotel, Dublin on Thursday, 8 October, and at ICC Belfast on Wednesday, 21 October, offering firms in both jurisdictions insights, expert guidance and new connections.
The half-day gatherings will highlight the evolving trading environment and the opportunities it presents, providing practical support whether companies are considering cross-border commerce for the first time or seeking to scale existing activity.
Margaret Hearty, Chief Executive, InterTradeIreland said: "For many SMEs, taking the next step into cross-border trade can raise practical questions, from understanding the market and navigating regulations to finding the right partners and supports. Trade Connects 2026 is designed to help businesses overcome those barriers through practical advice, expert insights and opportunities to connect with people who can help them move forward, opening doors to the vast opportunities available."
Hosted by award-winning entrepreneur and broadcaster Áine Kerr, each event will feature expert panels on cross-border trade and market expansion, plus specialist masterclasses on exporting and growth. Attendees can also meet exhibitors and advisers to learn about available supports, resources and funding to accelerate their plans.
The programme will examine broader forces shaping business performance, including how AI and digital technologies can boost productivity, operations and growth.
Suzanne Hill, Global Business Consultant and Founder of AI for SMEs, who will deliver the Masterclass in AI for SMEs, added: "Each of the Trade Connects events is a fantastic resource for SMEs to avail of solutions-focused advice from experts. Looking to the future, AI is giving SMEs the chance to work smarter by automating everyday tasks, improving decision-making, and uncovering insights that were previously inaccessible. Ahead of both dates, a dedicated online networking platform will allow participants to connect, schedule one-to-one meetings and build personalised agendas.

SSE Airtricity To Raise Gas Tariff By 19.2% From October
